Our Football Season____________________
The Evansville Junior Football League’s football season begins in early August of each year.
EJFL is a three division league, consisting of Junior Division (grades 2nd and 3rd), Intermediate Division (grades 4th and 5th), and the Senior Division (grades 6th and 7th).
All teams practice each week and every participant will participate in each game.
The season will start with the first practice on the first Monday of August and will continue until the last weekend in October. Practice times per EJFL Rules: After school starts, practices will not last later than 7:15 p.m. or 15 minutes after sunset (as indicated on the Sunrise/Sunset Smartphone App) whichever comes first and will be limited to a maximum of:
One (1) session per day.
Three (3) sessions per week (2 hours per session or four (4) sessions per week (1-½ hours per session).
Ten (10) hours per week prior to school start.
No Friday practices.
Exceptions during playoff weeks, Saturday practices will be allowed on non-game weeks, but cannot exceed six (6) practice hours per week Games are held every Saturday, **subject to change due to weather. Games are every Saturday at 9:00am, 10:30am, and 12:00 noon.
Last game(s) of the year is the “Cereal Bowl.” This is held Sunday, during the last Sunday in October at Reitz Bowl. All divisions will have a Championship game, to be played at Reitz Bowl.
