The Evansville Junior Football League’s football season begins in early August of each year.  There are currently ten Junior tackle football teams (Grades 2nd, 3rd and 4th) and ten Senior tackle (Grades 5th, 6th, and 7th) football teams.   In addition to the football players, there are also Cheer squads for the teams.  (Grades 1st through 8th)  The football teams and the cheer squads practice each week and participate in each game.

The season will start with the first practice on the first Monday of August and will continue until the last weekend in October.  Practice times per EJFL Rules: After school starts, practices will not last later than 7:15 p.m. or 15 minutes after sunset (as listed in the Courier) whichever comes first and will be limited to a maximum of:

  1. One (1) session per day.

  2. Three (3) sessions per week (2 hours per session or four (4) sessions per week (1-½ hours per session).

  3. Ten (10) hours per week prior to school start.

  4. No Friday practices.

  5. Exceptions during playoff weeks, Saturday practices will be allowed on non-game weeks, but cannot exceed six (6) practice hours per week Games are held every Saturday,  **subject to change due to weather..  Games are every Saturday at 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00 noon, 1:30pm and 3:00pm.

Last game(s) of the year is the “Cereal Bowl.”  This is held Sunday, during the last weekend in October at Reitz Bowl.  Both the Senior and Junior divisions have a Championship and Consolation game.
