Our Football Season

The Evansville Junior Football League’s football season begins in early August of each year.   EJFL is a three division league, consisting of Junior Division (Flag grades K-2nd), Intermediate Division (Tackle grades 2nd-4th), and the Senior Division (Tackle grades 5th-7th).  Seventh graders do have the option to play either Cub league, for their high school, or playing at EJFL.  No one will be allowed to play both, in the interest of fairness to all players.

All teams practice each week and every participant will participate in each game.  Practice times per EJFL Rules: After school starts, practices will not last later than 7:15 p.m. or 15 minutes after sunset (as indicated on the Sunrise/Sunset Smartphone App) whichever comes first and will be limited to a maximum of:  One (1) session per day; Three (3) sessions per week (2 hours per session or four (4) sessions per week (1-½ hours per session); Ten (10) hours per week prior to school start; No Friday or Sunday games or practices.  Exceptions during playoff weeks, Saturday practices will be allowed on non-game weeks, but cannot exceed six (6) practice hours per week.  Games will be on Saturdays beginning at 9:00am.  (Subject to change due to weather.)  The last game(s) of the year is the “Cereal Bowl.”  This will be held Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 at Reitz Bowl.  All divisions will have a Championship game, to be played at Reitz Bowl.
